The benefit of team work.
Hi folks,
I’m writing this on the Monday after the Wellington Phoenix were unceremoniously dumped from the A league finals. I was at the game with my children and we left feeling a little flat, a season that just a couple of months ago promised so much is now over for another year. Thankfully the Hurricanes are playing superbly and we have hope for 1 sporting code this year prior to the World Cup.
I raise this because there are parallels between Real Estate and sport. Agents compete with each other for business. We can be heroes to some people one week and utter zeroes to others the following week. We work in a team but can have individuals do something that their colleagues didn’t see coming and transform a working week for all concerned.
One of the pluses of working as part of a team within Tommys is the ability to list properties not just in Upper Hutt but over the whole Hutt Valley, I’ve just listed a property in Stokes Valley and appraised property in both Wainuiomata and Belmont. I’ve been able to give accurate prices by speaking to my colleagues promoting the benefit of our team, crucial points in gaining the trust of someone with their (generally) biggest asset to sell.
On a completely separate point, on Sunday the 3rd May my car broke down immediately after an open home, fortunately I was close to friends house who were extremely surprised to see me run into their house in a cold sweat and asking to borrow a car, they did so without hesitation which allowed me to finish off the rest of my open homes and not disappoint my other vendors. So I would like to offer a very large thank you to Alan & Cathy Morrissey. It’s fair to say that I owe you guys and look forward to returning a favour in the future!
