Upper Hutt sales figures improve
At the time of you reading this the result of the World Cup will be known and New Zealand will be either euphoric or in severe depression. As you may have guessed I’m writing this prior to the final and all I can say is "GO THE AB’S" I’m predicting a euphoric New Zealand for four more years to paraphrase George Gregan.
As well as the world cup, we also have Labour day, this is generally the time of the year when the market changes gear and moves into selling mode, spring turns into summer, the gardens are looking better, the sun is shining and it’s time to move. The numbers of available listings is starting to increase and inevitably the number of buyers will too.
As I’ve mentioned in previous columns, 2011 has seen great improvements in the number of sales in Upper Hutt compared with last year, prices are down but relatively stable and there are occasional bargains to be had but what I would suggest to anyone looking to buy is to take a long term perspective and remember that at some point in the future the property prices will rise again and todays buyers will potentially reap the rewards.
Changing tack a tad, I’ve been writing my musings on the market for the last 4 years and I have met a lot of people who are regular readers, always great for me as I really didn’t know if anyone would be even slightly interested in what I have to say, so for those regular readers I have something else to share, I’m delighted to say that on the 29th October I will be getting married so the last week of October will be doubly memorable for me, a world cup final and a wedding, I love this country.
